A year after becoming the first PGA Tour event to be held in Japan, the Zozo Championship will shift to North America this season due to logistical issues created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sherwood Country Club in Lake Sherwood, California, will serve as the new setting for the event from October 22-25.
Dustin Johnson was originally scheduled to play but withdrew from the Zozo Championship on Monday evening due to his COVID-19 diagnosis the previous week. Johnson didn’t participate in the CJ Cup, making this his second straight missed tournament.
When it comes to odds on which golfers have the best chance to win the Zozo Championship, Bodog has you covered. Jon Rahm is the +1000 betting favorite, followed by Xander Schauffele (+1100), Justin Thomas (+1200), Rory McIlroy (+1200) and Collin Morikawa (+1800).

Woods Looking to Retain Zozo Championship Title
Tiger Woods won his record-tying 82nd PGA Tour tournament at last year’s Zozo Championship and is back to defend against a star-studded field.
This is the first time we’ve seen Woods since the U.S. Open. Eldrick bogeyed his first three holes on Thursday of the 2019 event but birdied nine of his next 15 to shoot 64 and share the first-round lead with Gary Woodland.
Play ended up being called due to darkness on Sunday, which meant Woods had to complete seven holes on Monday morning, where he ended up topping Hideki Matsuyama by three shots. With a victory this time around, Woods can break the record for most PGA Tour wins.
Johnson owns the Sherwood course record (61). Woods is comfortable at Sherwood, having played at the World Challenge, a PGA Tour-recognized tournament hosted each December here from 2000 to 2013. Sherwood was also the site of the Showdown at Sherwood, the first ever prime-time live golf match, played between Woods and David Duval in 1999.
Talented Field Set to Descend on Sherwood
In yet another tune-up as the best golfers in the world prepare for an unprecedented November Masters, the best of the best on the PGA Tour will be present in California this week.
Sponsor exemptions for the 2020 Zozo Championship feature some notable names, as past FedExCup champions Justin Rose and Jordan Spieth will tee it up alongside Tommy Fleetwood, Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson and Satoshi Kodaira.
A pair of native Californian young guns in Morikawa and Matthew Wolff wil be making their Zozo debuts. Wolff will feel right at home, as he went to high school just seven miles from Sherwood. The winner of the Zozo Championship will receive 500 FedExCup points.
Here’s a helpful guide to some of the different betting options for the Zozo Championship to help you put some extra cash in your pocket while wagering on golf.
Golf is unique for many reasons, but one of them is the significant number of betting props available at weekly tournaments. The Zozo Championship is no different.
Sportsbooks are offering odds on things like whether there will be a hole-in-one, OVER/UNDERs on the winning score for the eventual champion and odds on which players from specific countries will have the lowest score, to name a few.
Like other sports, betting on props is a fun and unique way to enhance your golf gambling experience.
Live Betting is arguably one of the most exciting ways to bet on golf. If the player you placed a pre-tournament bet on is out of the running at any point during the Zozo Championship, you can bet on another golfer as the days go by and have another stake in the game.
If there are only a few men in the hunt on the final day, the odds likely won’t be significantly high, but your chances of winning are. We’ve seen this happen multiple times in the PGA Tour’s Return to Golf, as multiple tournaments have gone to a playoff.
